Christopher A. Villasenor, 2026 Consumer Attorney Visionary, Business by LA Times Studios

Villasenor Law Offices founder Christopher A. Villasenor has been named a 2026 Consumer Attorney Visionary by Business by LA Times Studios. He is profiled in the October 2026 issue in the Personal Injury category.

The Consumer Attorney Visionaries recognize leading Southern California plaintiff attorneys in product liability, labor and employment, family law, and personal injury. Honorees are selected for their average success rates, settlements, and verdicts over the last two years, as well as their leadership within their firms and their community and board affiliations.

“I’m honored to be recognized alongside so many respected consumer attorneys in Southern California,” said Villasenor. “Much of my work is helping San Diego business owners protect what they’ve built, and I bring that same care to every injured client I represent.”

Outside General Counsel for San Diego Businesses

Business clients are at the center of Chris’s practice. He has practiced law in California since 1990, and for more than three decades he has served as outside general counsel to San Diego companies on contracts, corporate governance, buying and selling businesses, commercial real estate, and business disputes. Many of his clients have relied on him for more than a decade, and his earlier work as in-house counsel at two large technology and government services companies shapes how he advises them.

Personal Injury Representation

Chris began his career defending personal injury claims for insurance carriers, and he now uses that experience to anticipate how insurers evaluate, value, and limit claims. His personal injury practice includes catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, and uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims, and he has served as lead counsel in more than 30 civil trials. When an injured client owns a company, his business background helps him document lost business income and protect the business while the owner recovers.

Recent Results

His recent results include a total recovery of $676,166 for a 22-year-old college student who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a disputed-liability collision, achieved by pursuing every available source of recovery beyond the at-fault driver’s policy limits. He also secured a combined $250,000 underlying and underinsured motorist recovery for a real estate agent injured by a driver who ran a red light. Earlier results include a $2 million settlement for a 19-year-old motorcyclist who ran his own bicycle repair business, and medical malpractice recoveries of $3.15 million and $2.37 million. Five Straight Years on Super Lawyers

The recognition follows his fifth consecutive selection to Super Lawyers, every year from 2023 through 2027, in Personal Injury, Business Litigation, and Business/Corporate. He earned his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and his J.D. from California Western School of Law. A longtime member and past Group Leader of ProVisors, a national professional referral network, he has also served as a judge for moot court competitions in San Diego.
